A SCARBOROUGH charity presented awards to local businesses and groups in recognition of their support.
Scarborough Blind and Partially Sighted Society hosted the annual event which is designed to thank those who have helped the charity throughout the year.
The group has been recognising local support by giving out trophies for the past 40 years.
Viv Wright, chief officer, said: "We really appreciate the way in which local businesses in the borough support us, both by having our collecting boxes, holding fundraising events and by making donations to help us with our work.
"We are a local independent charity and as such don't receive any regular funding from any statutory authority, our workload is growing each year as people are living longer and more are developing sight problems.
"Sight impairment is a hidden disability, and is also one of the most common disabilities in older people, so we are finding more and more clients being referred to us for assistance, so all financial help however small is always welcome."
