A SCARBOROUGH teenager got on his bike and cycled 22 miles in aid of a good cause.
Scalby School pupil Adam Crossley, 14, rode along the old Scarborough to Whitby rail track, from Sainsbury’s in Falsgrave to Ravenscar and back, to raise £101.56 for St Catherine’s Hospice.
He completed the ride on his BMX bike in three hours and 56 minutes.
Adam said: “Some bits of the ride were hard work – it was uphill on the way and then downhill coming back. But my mum had fish and chips waiting for me for when I got home!”
Debbie Millard, a St Catherine’s Hospice fundraiser, said: “Adam has done a brilliant job raising so much money and completing the bike ride, we are very grateful.”
The money will go towards providing in and out-patient care, neurology support, bereavement support and day care for patients across a 1,600 square mile area, including Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, Driffield and Ryedale.
