A BROAD range of groove music simmers in the melting pot that is the DTs, who play at the New Tavern on Saturday.
The band members have wildly different influences ranging from reggae to rock, dance music to folk, and from R&B to pop, so they decide which songs to play by a vote.

New this time will be tracks by the Blues Brothers, Frank Black of the Pixies, more P J Harvey, the Black Keys and BeatsInternational.

Drummer John Allsopp says: “We choose great music people can dance to. We cross genres from one song to the next but the thread that links it all is us trying to get a room to loosen and connect, and often that happens best when people get up and dance. But just to be clear: we do that with music that has some depth; we won't be playing Agadoo. Think Macy Gray and the Prodigy as well as fun stuff like the Sugababes and Mud”.
