THE third annual Starfest, at Filey's Star pub on Sunday, was a huge success, raising £2,088 for Macmillan nurses on Sunday.
"The place was heaving, there was not one bit of trouble, everyone had a great big smile on their face, the weather was good, the music was superb and the acoustics were perfect," says pleased-as-punch landlord and cellar-tramp John Barr.

On the bill, from 2pm until 10pm, were the Dangleberries, Chu Ma Shu, Diva Strop, Lucy, Swagger, Sammy Lee, Fists of Metal and Snatch.

Lee Norgate of Swagger says: "We all had a cracking day and everything ran like clockwork."

Between them, the three Starfests to date have raised nearly £10,000 for Macmillan, in memory of Chris Wing, who died of cancer very young.

l Swagger are playing at the Station in Filey on Friday, the Lancaster in Scarborough on Saturday and Hunmanby Sports Club on Sunday.
