VIOLINIST Phillip Mindenhall and pianist Vincent Billington will perform at the Evron Centre in Filey on Friday and at St Helen's Church in York next Monday. Vincent will also play at St John's Burlington Methodist Church in Bridlington next Tuesday and Whitby Pavilion (with soprano Ione Cumming) at 12.30pm next Wednesday. The York performance is due to start at 1pm; the others at 12.30pm.
THE Whiners will play original funky blues and a few covers (Traffic, Small Faces, Bob Marley) at Cellars on Saturday July 26. The line-up is Luke Pearson on vocals, Dave Shackleton on guiatr and vocals and Stephen Johnson on bass.

MUSICIANS from the York, Scarborough and Whitby areas will perform at an event called Music in the Basement at Whitby Coliseum on Saturday July 26. They include Andy Stones, Fragile, Mails Cain, Barbara Helen, Chris the poet, the Committee and Adam Moss. "The last show was a sell-out," says promoter Sally Ann Smith.

THE Lakeside Soul Club returns to the Northway pub on Saturday, from 8pm until late, with DJs Jinxy and Kim White.

SINGER and keyboards player Chris Myers will play at the Blacksmith's Arms in Cayton on Saturday. On Friday, the pub is raising money for the village gala with a tombola, raffle, quiz and karaoke.
