SPANISH guitarist Effrem Saval, who gave a splendid performance at the recent literature festival, will play at Filey's Evron Centre on Friday lunchtime. He and pianist Vincent Billington will present Nights in the Gardens of Spain. He will not be accompanied by Vincent but will play solos. Vincent's daughter Bernadette will also be appearing. VARIOUS performers will present an evening of music and laughter at the village hall in Snainton on Friday, at 7.30pm. They include John Mitchell, Doreen Kaye, Ken Humphries, Sue Walls, Paul de Villenueva, Sue Parker and John Pearson.

RAVEN will b
e at the Band Room in Farndale on Saturday June 20, at 8pm. Tickets are £7.50 and include a glass of wine and nibbles. They can be booked by ringing 07876 650400 or bought on the door. People can also take their own drinks.

SINGER Chris Andrew is playing at the Station in Filey on Friday. The Station is hosting a country night with singer Carolyn Foy next Wednesday and a glam-rock night with Kriz on Friday June 19.

STARS from the West End musical We Will Rock You will be joined by a 60-piece rock and symphony orchestra for a Queen extravaganza at Castle Howard on Friday August 21. Legendary classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Kind of Magic, We Are the Champions, Somebody to Love, I Want it All and Fat Bottomed Girls will be performed with magical backdrops. With over 70 performers on stage, it will feature all Queen’s classic hits, say the promoters. The show will also be presented at Harewood House, near Leeds.
