THE line-up for the third free Acoustic Gathering, in Peasholm Park, has been announced.
Running from noon until 10.30pm on Sunday September 14, it will be headlined by 3 Daft Monkeys, Toby Jepson and Alistair Griffin.
They are among 22 local musicians and out-of-town artists, including some nationally known singer-songwriters, on the bill.
They will perform on the bandstand in the lake. None performed at either of the previous festivals, which were attended by hundreds of people.
The other acts include local legends Stony, the madcap mayhem of Manfat Voodoo and johnny-jump-up, Middlesbrough’s flamenco guitarist Mark Boden, the phenomenally talented duo Morales/Watts and rising modern female artistes such as Steph Fraser, Holly Taymar and Natasha Johansson.
Festival organiser Steve Dickinson says: “I am very excited about Acoustic Gathering III. This year I have had over 200 enquiries to play and have had to choose just 22, which was a very difficult but enjoyable task. But I believe the end-product will showcase what dazzling talent this country has to offer. The 3 Daft Monkeys are an incredible headliner. Peasholm Park will have seen nothing like this before.”
Facilities include catering, a bar, toilets, stalls and a family activity area.
As dusk falls, projections will illuminate the stage.
The festival is being sponsored by Mojo’s Music Café, Scarborough Council, Create, Entsweb and Coastal Communications.
The running order, which may change, is Luke Keegan at noon, the Acoustic Project at 12.20pm, Joe Solo at 12.40pm, Manfat Voodoo at 1pm, Mr Kellys at 1.20pm, Stony at 1.40pm, Raven at 2.05pm, Holly Taymar at 2.30pm, Two at 2.55pm, Natasha Johansson at 3.20pm, Cherry and the Orchestra at 3.45pm, Jemma Rycroft at 4.10pm, johnny-jump-up at 4.35pm, Steph Fraser at 5pm, Mark Boden at 5.25pm, the Dog Roses at 5.50pm, Adrian Byron Burns at 6.20pm, Morales/Watts at 6.55pm, Edwina Hayes at 7.30pm, Alistair Griffin at 8.05pm, Toby Jepson at 8.45pm and 3 Daft Monkeys at 9.30pm.
