A CHARITY gig at the Tap and Spile on Sunday afternoon raised £159 for the Citizens Advice Bureau.
The songs of Woody Guthrie were performed by Railroad Bill, Amaya & Al Huntly, Vince and Tom Townsend, Jesse Hutchin-son, Andy Dutfield and others.

Jo Drydale of the CAB says: "These musicians were superb and so talented.

"We did appreciate them all giving up their free time to support us, especially the young musicians. I feel they will all go far with the talent they have. It also touched me that the young readily supported our CAB; they are all true stars. Vince excelled himself and arranged a truly fabulous day.

"We are also grateful to Mattie Coulson and his staff at the Tap and Spile – their hospitality was outstanding."

l Railroad Bill are playing aboard the music train that operates between Whitby and Middlesbrough this Friday.
