THE Drifters perform their timeless classics and new material at the Futurist Theatre.
The group, who are one of the longest running in history, are appearing at the venue every Wednesday at 8pm until the end of August with their Sacrifice tour.

This year they are celebrating their 55th anniversary and the show includes hits such as Saturday Night at the Movies, Under the Boardwalk, Come on Over to My Place and Kissing in the Back Row of the Movies.

They will also perform material from their new album Five Decades and Moore, which is in memory of one of the group's singers Johnny Moore, who died in 1998.

Since their creation in 1953, the line-up of the Drifters has undergone many changes with 55 different singers including Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King, Charlie Thomas, Rudy Lewis and Johnny Moore.

The band have notched up more than 50 hits selling in excess of 214 million singles and 114 million albums across the world.

The Drifters current line-up is Christophe Richards, Steve King, Michael Williams and Maurice Cannon.
