True Romance
Sue Wilkinson Romance web
Romance fiction is ever popular at Scarborough Library whether it is Valentine’s Day or not.
Not surprisingly, I suppose, the list is dominated by women writers with Danielle Steel appearing twice. In fact David Nicholls is the lone male voice with One Day ... and this has probably got as much to do with the film which has brought it to readers’ attention.
That is not to say they are not some superb romantic stories written by men. For example David Nobb’s Obstacles to Young Love. The creator of Reginald Perrin shows with Obstacles and his Pratt series he can write romance with the best of them ... and running true to the form of the genre the course of true love seldom runs smoothly in his books.
The top ten Romantic Fiction Books issued from Scarborough Library in Vernon Road are:

The Price of Love: Rosie Harris
