Securing the second place with its awe-inspiring game design and monumental popularity is Call of Duty (Activision 2003). It's currently the most significant multi-format shooter in the world.
And with its ability to constantly push boundaries and appeal to all ages, The Legend of Zelda (Nintendo 1986) follows closely behind at number three.
A nostalgic flashback to the 80's and gaming's most famous icon Mario (Super Mario Bros Nintendo 1981) also makes it into the Top 10 at number six.
