Whitby Abbey is open again - here's everything you need to know to plan you visit

From today, the Abbey and grounds will be open with a one-way system in operation.
The museum exhibition is closed and the shop will be shut until April 12.

Hide AdThe council-operated toilets near the site entrance are open as usual. The visitor centre toilets remain closed.
Visits must be booked in advance and this can be done online at the English Heritage Whitby Abbey website.
Some safety measures have been put in place so trips to the castle may now be slightly different to previous visits.
Friendly staff and volunteers will still be on hand to give a warm - if socially distant - welcome.

Hide AdFace coverings must be worn in all indoor areas. Visitors should bring face coverings with them.
