Tom and his band at the spooky pub

BEARING in mind the pub's spooky reputation, Tom Wolf and the Boogiemen promise to tell a few dark tales at the Poacher's Barn in Osgodby on Friday.

Numbers will include Time to Kill, a tongue-in-cheek song about someone going crazy who kills somebody, says Tom, the band’s pianist and lead singer.

“It should be a fun night out,” says the former taxi driver, adding that he became a full-time musician when his daughter Hannah was born a couple of years ago.

The band will cover tracks by Wilson Pickett, James Brown, the Rolling Stones, the Commitments and Blues Brothers, and play original songs by Tom.

Tom hails from Scarborough, as do Jonathan Jeeves on trumpet, trombone and vocals and James Smithson on sax and vocals.

The others are Pete Woods of Hunmanby on harmonica and Dave Allott of Bridlington on lead guitar.
