THE CURTAIN is about to go up on a family’s first summer season at a popular seaside pub.

The Winter family have taken over the reins at the Tow Bay in Cayton Bay, and are hoping to add a bit of showbiz glamour to the venue.

No strangers to the stage themselves, the family is planning to run cabaret throughout 2012 and are appealing to local acts to take part.

Landlady Sonia Winter, who is a former dancer, said: “We want to put our stamp on the place, and felt a cabaret show would go down well with locals and the holidaymakers.”

Sonia met husband Geoff while working at Butlins, and together they toured holiday parks across the country.

The couple passed on their passion for performing to children Ben, Nicola and Gemma, who have sung together on stages around the world.

Mrs Winter added; “Taking on the pub just seemed like the next logical step for us. We are all outgoing and chatty and it seemed like the right trade to be in for us.”

Anyone interested in performing in the Tow Bar’s cabaret is invited to contact Mrs Winter on (01273)583794, email thetowbarcayton@hotmail.co.uk or call in to the pub.

And some of the residents and employees of Cayton Bay Holiday Park were hoping this lot had done one for good.
