Get your kicks on Route 66
THE best of American country, rock and pop takes centre stage in Route 66 at the Futurist Theatre tomorrow.
The cast of performers and musicians is led by Rev Dr Clive Jackson of 80s psychedelic rock band Doctor and the Medics, who had a number one in 25 countries with Spirit in the Sky. Route 66 marks his stage debut.
Promoter Ben Williams says this “spectacular musical extravaganza is produced in association with Harley-Davidson.
“The cast of Route 66 invite you to cruise along the world’s most famous road and find yourself on a musical journey through the best of American country, rock, pop and all the classic sounds of Route 66,” says Ben.
“A highly acclaimed cast of performers and musicians, pristine choreography and exciting multi-media effects come together to create the perfect atmosphere for audiences young and old to lose themselves in the sounds of the Eagles, Cher, Bon Jovi, Johnny Cash, Meatloaf, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner, Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Bryan Adams and many more favourites.”
The show runs from the power ballads of LeAnn Rimes to the acoustic classics of John Denver, all the way through to the rock anthems of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.
“So climb aboard your Harley, feel the wind in your hair – and come get your kicks down on Route 66”, Ben says.
The show is due to start at 7.30pm.
