A NEW photo competition has been launched as a thank you to Maureen Robinson and her gift of the popular North Bay Freddie Gilroy statue.

Organisers are hoping to run submitted images alongside a CD written by Martin Nesbitt.

Organiser Jakki Willby said a smaller statue had been donated as the first prize for the winning photographer. She said: “I have a small sculpture by Ray Lonsdale as a top prize to the winning entry, plus 64-80 other entries will be included on a DVD.

“The competition is open for anyone to submit an entry to it. The sculpture will be displayed at various galleries through out the town, where it may be viewed and entries can be submitted.”

Venues so far confirmed include Coast Gallery in Cloughton, Picturesque on St John’s Road and Woodend Creative Workspace.

Judges include Adrian Gatie, David Chalmers and Tony Bartholomew.
