A delightful tale of mischief and magic

PUPILS at Scarborough College are all set to present A Midsummer Night's Dream next week.

The mischievous Puck's matchmaking goes terribly awry in this delightful tale for young and old, featuring mischief and magic in a forest inhabited by fairy folk, woodland creatures and a donkey.

Marketing officer Lucy Clayton says: "It's a feast of love gone wrong and right again – thanks to some meddling spirits and the original amateur theatre company's entertainment for a royal wedding. Their bungled attempts make some of the auditions for Britain's Got Talent look positively slick.

"The cast has been rehearsing hard and the crew has been wielding the paint-brush and needle and thread to bring this year's production to readiness, combining talents across the senior school to bring the classic Shakespearean play to life with theatrical, musical and creative flair."

The production is under the direction of head of drama Jo Huntsman who says: "I'm exceptionally proud of the company. They have come together so well to share this fantastic play."

A Midsummer Night's Dream can be seen at 8pm Monday and 7.30pm Tuesday and Wednesday.
