A NEW venue has been announced for the 2012 Miss Scarborough and District competition with organisers and hosts looking to make it a spectacular affair.

After 400 hundred people attended last year’s final at the Spa, organiser Diane Yalezo is now set to inject the fun of the fair alongside the glitz and glam in the Grand Final on April 21.

She said: “The Scarborough Fair Collection at the Flower of May, Lebberston is going to be an amazing place to hold our event, thanks to Graham Atkinson.

“We are also pleased to confirm that Rowlies school of dancing will return to entertain.”

The Scarborough Fair Collection Ballroom will be decorated to suit the occasion, and spectators will also be able to use the fairground rides on the night.

Jessica Lane, 17, and Hannah Buffam, both of York, are the latest to sign up, taking the total entrants to 11.

“We definitely have more entries at this stage than last year, but we would love to see more Scarborough girls come forward,” said Mrs Yalezo. “Local girls don’t be shy! It’s a great event, you will have lots of fun and meet other lovely girls.

“We are lucky to see the return of Lisa Powell, the official Miss England choreographer, who will work with the girls all day to show them exactly what to do.

“Shadow in Victoria Road will be on hand to do their hair and Spa.ngle, also from the salon, will do make-up on the night.

“So girls, if you want to be treated like a princess for the day and join in what is going to be an unforgettable night, join in the fun and enter today.”

Entrants must be aged between 17-24 and should complete the form below, or email su-ann.chow@yrnltd.co.uk.
