For a couple of hours on Thursday evening I was oblivious of our troubled world – specifically, the ever-present incidence of juvenile delinquency.
Having forsaken an evening of TV mediocrity (at best) I settled down in my seat at the YMCA to enjoy a programme of dance and music, performed by a multi-talented cast of young people; some very young.

There is no need for me to attempt a media critic-type account of the event; suffice to say that the display of enthusiasm and evidence of hours of hard work, the variety of music, the many costume changes and the stage settings were an immense credit to all concerned.

It is a pity that such a tonic is not available on the NHS.
