My friend and I were waiting at the traffic lights at the end of Seamer Road to turn right into Falsgrave Road, when suddenly we heard the loud klaxon and whirring of an ambulance directly behind us.
There was no doubt we had to move for him. My friend pulled out as far as she needed to let him get past, whereupon the ambulance sped along Falsgrave Road. We, however, were left among oncoming traffic with no-one prepared to let us proceed.

It was a very scary moment.

I know the ambulance was obviously going to an emergency, but do they need to put other people’s lives in danger as well? Surely, when it was clear there was nowhere else for us to go, another 30 seconds until the lights changed wouldn’t have been too much to ask in order to avoid a potential accident.
