I believe Darzi centres will undermine the invaluable work done by GPs in their various surgeries and take away resources that are needed for healthcare.
A public meeting would be a good idea if it is well publicised and the public voice is heard, not ignored.

However, such a centre does allow for a register of DNA, a concentration of medical records, maybe employment records and other sensitive in
formation in one place easily accessible by Guardians of Public Behaviour. I do not want this. I trust my doctors, but have no confidence in these plans.

A Darzi centre would divert funds away from patient care – to equipment and the training of specialist staff to set up a building to honour Darzi and provide dividends to shareholders whose managing directors control clinical decisions.

I am satisfied that the GPs who have written about the Darzi Centre are providing the best care within their existing budget, and that diverting funds away from GP surgeries will be detrimental to the well-being of patients.

As a local resident and patient of Claremont Surgery in Castle Road, I am appalled at the prospect of losing "my surgery" and the personal support given by all the doctors and health visitors in the schools where I taught, including Filey.
