Our council servants are beyond belief.
Filey Road is clogged, Seamer Road – well it seems it always has been clogged – and now Scalby Road.
In their infinite wisdom they set up a six-week programme of blockages in the middle of Scalby Road. What has Stepney Road done to be left out?
Even the Coastal Road is not free of lights.
And all in the middle of the holiday season.
But wait, surely they have not finished. With a teensy weensy bit more of what they call planning they could make sure the whole of the town seizes up, and what happy bunnies would they be then.
Can't they block Stepney Road, Valley Road, North Marine Drive, and the Marine Drive, and then the town would be full of stationary, furious drivers.
That is, of course, what we all want in the middle of our limited tourist season.
People like me now shop at out-of-town supermarkets and shops, and in towns like Pickering and Malton. We cannot face trying to get into Scarborough.
For heaven's sake, the council should get its act together.
We need locals, and we need tourists, and you are doing your damnedest to get rid of them all. Whose side are you on?

Harwood Dale
