BUSES and coaches are putting passengers' safety in jeopardy by stopping and dropping off their passengers, at inappropriate places around the town.
This double decker bus (pictured) stopped completely across the only entrance and exit into the Scarborough railway station, but then proceeded to open its doors to let the passengers alight.

This action not only stopped all vehicles from exiting the railway station, but could have caused a serious accident, from either inside the station or from traffic building up at the narrowest point, close to the Victoria Hotel, trying to enter the station.

This entrance/exit has been reported previously about its narrowness and the potential dangers when leaving and entering.

Drivers should not now have added extra dangers of when buses and coaches decide to stop and drop passengers off across this entrance and exit.

Other coaches have stayed on drop-off/pick-up points for hours, instead of driving to proper designated coach parks to save the parking fee, forcing other coaches to either double park on Sandside or drop their passengers off on the bus stop close by.

Many cars also park on the coach drop-off points, with total disregard to the congestion that they cause on Sandside by the tourist information office.

With the summer fast approaching and the school holidays, these points should have been ironed out long before now, but let's hope they are not repeated.
