I OVERWHELMINGLY second the Evening News headline "Scarbor-ough's GPs 'are among the best'".
My husband is a victim of Parkinson’s Disease and recently has had the added problem of an infection, which has more or less taken him off his feet.

The staff of South Cliff Surgery have been wonderful, so much kindness and caring.

Doctors hav
e been to see him at home, receptionists have patiently given time to explain things to me over the phone.

Nothing is too much trouble.

I must include praise and gratitude for the loving care extended to my husband at the Parkinson’s Disease Unit at Scarborough Hospital, where he attends day care weekly; his physiotherapist and colleague came to see Tony and stayed for some time to give comfort and confidence and re-assurance.

Last, but by no means least, my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Yorkshire Ambulance Service which came immediately to my cry for help, in the lovely shape of a man called Charles, the paramedic.

He completely assessed my husband’s bodyworks – a full MOT, concluding: no need to be admitted into hospital as long as he does as he’s told.

All in all, the best services are in Yorkshire – God’s own county.

God is good.
