I JUST wanted to congratulate Mike Gordon and everyone responsible for such an amazing jazz festival this year.
I returned to Scarborough earlier this year after being away for 20 years and am blown away by how many exciting things are taking place – not least the jazz festival!

I brought my three-year-old son to the Radio 3 jazz line-up on Saturday which he loved! And Claire Martin’s performance on Sunday night was outstanding.

If I may I would like to make a suggestion for next year:

It would be great to have some daytime concerts specifically tailored to young families/children – I feel very strongly about the importance of bringing music to a younger audience (the Spa do it very well with the “teddy bears picnic” during the summer).

It would be great to see such a provision at next year’s jazz festival.
