RE Newlands shops parking.
Reading your letter from Granville Roberts, I feel I must reply to this important issue of parking illegally. I shop most days and find parking my car is a nightmare.

Even when there are spaces, owners are too lazy to park and would rather park on the island or double yellow lines. Reversing on dark nights towards cars which have suddenly parked behind, it is only luck that I have not had an accident.

A traffic warden would have a field day with at least 10 fines an hour. But nobody seems to care. A serious accident waiting to happen. Many disabled and pensioners use these shops as it’s very convenient and the shopkeepers are so helpful, but something must be done about these illegal parkers.
