A new Scarborough scheme which supports members of the armed forces has received the royal seal of approval.
Prince Charles has given his backing to Heroes Welcome, which is supported by the Evening News and which allows Army, Navy and RAF personnel and veterans to benefit from discounts at hotels, restaurants and other businesses across the town.
In a message to organisers, the Prince of Wales said: "I was delighted to hear about the fantastic support for Scarborough's Heroes Welcome to military personnel and I do hope it can become a permanent fixture."
