SCARBOROUGH Athletic and Scarborough Town have been kept apart in the opening stages of the North Riding County FA Senior Cup.
Athletic have been handed a bye straight through to the second round of the competition, while Town will play host to Grangetown.

Grangetown reside in the Teesside League second division, which is one above Mitch Cook’s Town outfit, so they should
provide a tough test

Kirkbymoorside are also in first round action where they travel to Teesside Athletic.

This will be a clash of the top two in the Wearside League, as the pair currently head the way on eight points.

Whitby club Fishburn Park are involved in the other first round game when they host Nunthorpe Athletic.

All first round ties must be played by October 31.

Brian France’s men open up with a visit to Stokesley Sports in the second round of the competition in a game that has to be played by the end of November.

Stokesley lie second in the Northern League second division, so they could provide a tough test for Boro.

There is another interesting encounter at the second hurdle when Pickering Town of the NCE Premie rplay host to Unibond premier club Whitby Town.

Pickering managed to collect a hefty pre-season win over their rivals, so Whitby will be on the look-out for revenge.
