SCARBOROUGH Town's first ever competitive match in the 14-team second division of the Teesside League will be in Redcar on Wednesday night, August 13.

They travel to Teesside Athletic for one of four away matches before their first home game at the McCain Sports Ground on Saturday, August 30 against Middlesbrough opposition, Grangetown YCC.

Other early-season away games are at Great Ayton on Saturday, August 16, at Redcar Rugby Club on Wednesday, August 20 and Acklam Steelworks on August 23.

In all, Town will face 13 other teams in the second division, following South Bank Football Community Association's failure to be admitted.

Town have been drawn against South Bank St Peters in the Macmillan Cup, the league's main cup competition, with the tie in September.

The Alex Burness Cup for second division sides sees the 14 teams divided into two groups, with Town playing home games against Great Ayton Utd, Redcar Rugby Club and Norton and Stockton Ancients, and away matches at Billingham Town Reserves, Billingham Kader and St Mary's College of Middlesbrough.

The top two in both groups will go through to the semi-finals.
