EIGHT Scarborough Town players have landed call-ups to the North Yorkshire squad.
Nathan Cook, Josh Greening, Joe Danby, Sam Smart and Matty Brown have all been selected to play in the under-18s, while James Gunn, Dominic Barber and Alistair Holmes have taken their places in the under-16s.

Greening, Danby, Smart and Cook all attend Scarborough Sixth Form College, while Matty Brown is a student at Whitby Community College.

Gunn and Barber are George Pindar pupils and Holmes goes to Ryedale School.

Each of the players booked their places in the respective sides by attending a trials session at Easingwold School earlier this week.

Town head coach Mitch Cook said: “It is great news for the area and the club.

“Each of the lads that we sent to the trails were selected for the full North Yorkshire squad, and three of them are a year younger than the age-group they will be playing in.

“They will all be involved in the games against the northern counties, like Cumbria and Northumberland. If the county qualifies from that then they will be involved in a national event.”
