A GROUP of Zumba enthusiasts have been helping to raise money for cancer charities by holding a fundraising Zumba class at Scarborough College.
Members of the Zumba Fever Crew organised and participated in the fundraiser.
Kate Tipton, who is deputy-headteacher at the College and helped co-ordinate the event, said: “All the girls in the Zumba Fever Crew will be taking part in the Race for Life on May 13, and this event was held to raise some funds towards that.
“All the girls involved go to Debs Horsham-Batley’s Zumba classes. Debs is a cancer survivor and is the inspiration behind our fundraising, she does a great job of driving us all forward.”
The session was led by Ms Tipton who has recently qualified as a Zumba instructor.
She added: “It was nerve- racking as it was my first time leading a class and doing my own choreography.
“I really enjoyed it though, all the girls were brilliant and we plan to hold more charity sessions in the future.”
