Please keep beck area tidy

RE: Rubbish dumping

As many Sherburn residents know, I have for the past two years been cleaning out the East end of Sherburn Beck and the surrounding area as it had come to be so neglected and in danger of flooding.

Most people including the children respect the area, however this morning I found that someone has dumped a pile of rubbish next to a walk way.

The rubbish included a huge amount of glass which was poking out of the pile. If a child had fallen on this it would have been horrific, and also dangerous to any dogs that are walked round there.

Another problem we have is people discarding plastic bags filled with dog poo! If you're going to pick it up then at least take it home with you.

Needless to say, I have picked up all the glass ready to take to the skip, along with the chicken wire, old bits of carpet and the rest of the rubbish that was left there.

So I'm asking, to whoever is responsible, please help to keep the area tidy.
