Pleasant drive – without any traffic lights!

WHAT a pleasure it was driving both ways through Falsgrave, Scarborough, at 8.50am and then at 10am on Thursday March 4.

Why? Because the traffic lights were off.

Motorists were on their best behaviour, giving way to the right, filtering through without a hitch, even though it was extremely busy.

This was time saving, giving the drivers responsibility for their own and others' safety, plus not having the amber and red light dodgers to contend with.

Oh for the return of roundabouts everywhere, and what a saving on electricity and maintenance.

Whoever said roundabouts don't work livea in cloud cuckoo land.

Other countries are reverting back to them, why can't we?

The large juggernauts which are struggling to get around these numerous poles and obstacles would welcome them too.
