Military park plan on show to the public

A SCARBOROUGH businessman is inviting people to come and find out more about plans to improve his North Bay adventure park.
The move follows concerns raised by members of the public that the Military Adventure Park, on the former Atlantis site, was becoming an “eyesore”.
Managing director David Hooper said he could fully understand people’s concerns, especially regarding the three large caravans which have been brought on to the site.
The Evening News reported that the caravans will be knocked together, clad and made into a new shooting range if Mr Hooper is granted planning permission.
He is now actively encouraging people to come down to the park and look at drawings of what the shooting range will look like.
Mr Hooper said: “We are open this week for half term and the drawings will be on display.
“People can come down and talk to me about any concerns. I’m keen to try and answer people’s questions.”
He added that the planning application still needs to be formalised, but that the 3D drawings will give visitors a good idea of how the finished attraction will look.
The shooting range is just part of a £50,000 investment being made on the site.
Another new attraction in the pipeline is a large piece of climbing equipment called Spider Mountain, which will cost around £35,000.
Mr Hooper explained that he has now agreed with Scarborough Council that he will stay on site all year.
