Equal respect is due to all
RECENTLY a group of Muslims faced terrorist charges in relation to plans to blow up trans-atlantic airliners.
Though they still face charges relating to terrorism there was not enough evidence to say they were intending to blow up the airliners.
In this day and age when political correctness is in vogue, why did the media refer to them using their faith? If a Christian or any other religious group committed any atrocities they would not be discriminated against by adding their faith to their name.
Society, especially the media, tend to pillory Muslims where atrocities are concerned yet my experiences of them are people who are content and not hungry for violence or revenge.
One of the most rewarding experiences I have had was sitting on the flat roof of a house in Cairo overlooking the Pyramids, sharing the food of a group of Muslims and comparing different beliefs.
They respect the Christian faith just as we should respect them, they were not bitter. They even gave me a book to help me have a greater understanding of the Koran and we finished by praying together.
