Enormous waste of resorces in BT error

FURTHER to the comments from myself on the scandal of the new BT phone directory for the area, I would like to let your readers have the figures to put this environmental error into perspective.

You give a print run of 112,000. Multiply this by 174 pages and the result is almost 19.5 million wasted sheets of A4 paper. For your computer and printer subscribers this equates to almost 39,000 reams of A4. Dilys Cluer must be about to explode at this enormous waste of resources.

I personally feel that the production controller of this error should be handed his P45, but no doubt BT will sweep the whole matter under the carpet and simply up their rates to cover the loss.

Re the phone book.

Today's contradiction. The new phone book has arrived.

On the explanation page it says "we have a responsibility to ensure we do not use more paper than we have to".

In "Residential Listings" almost all entries seem to be listed twice.
