SCARBOROUGH’S Citizens Advice Bureau is going back to its roots.
Its offices in Roscoe Street, pictured left, which have been its home for 20 years, will close on Monday. The new premises, at 4 Elders Street, will open a week later, from 10:30am on February 27.
Andy Hudson, chief executive of the Scarborough and District Citizens Advice Bureau, said that the charity had originally had a base in Elders Street when it first opened in late 1930s.
He said: “We’re going back to 1939 in a way. We think our new office will be much better for our customers. It’s nearer the centre of town and on the bus routes.
“It’s also got disabled access and disabled toilets.”
While there will be no Citizens Advice Bureau office in Scarborough for a week, outreach offices in Filey, Eastfield and Whitby will remain open as normal. Anyone who needs advice can ring the advice line on 08444 111444.
