Chance to have a grumble

A REALLY good grumble is great therapy according to Newby and Scalby in Bloom - which is giving local people the chance to have a public moan.

As part of its annual produce show on Sunday July 31, at Scalby Community Hall, the group is holding its annual “Grump” competition.

Participants are invited to moan for a minute during knock out rounds, their rants judged by the laughs or cheers coming from the public.

Competition organiser Kaet Newton said: “Of course we don’t allow swearing or anything illegal.”

Anyone interested in having a grump can come along to the show which has flower, fruit and vegetable classes, handicrafts, photography, children’s classes and games, refreshments, tombola and baking.

The show opens to the public at 12.30pm and closes at 4pm. Entries for classes can be made on Saturday July 30 from 5pm to 7.30pm and on the day of the show from 7am to 10am.
