What was once Peppers and is now Soltz is a very modern bar, beautifully decorated and a definite must for a light lunch or a main meal.
The interior includes all- wooden flooring, seating and bar area, also brown leather sofas in the window. Modern pictures of Scarborough adorn the walls along with plasma screens showing different TV channels. They had lovely real-looking flame light fittings giving it a modern old-fashioned feel.

The pub offers a different and varied menu which consisted of various unusual light bites between £3.95-£4.95, different sandwiches on a choice of granary, white or speciality bread of the day £4.25-£5.25, sharing platters £8.95-£10.50, main courses £5.75-£6.50, salads £5.25-£5.95, sides £1.50-£2.50 and a small selection of desserts. There is also a specials board.

We decided on a burger with bacon and barbecue sauce but other toppings are also available, this came served with their lovely thick cut chips and side salad. Our other meal choice was Cajun chicken strips again served with thick-cut chips, side salad, a sweet chilli dip and mayonnaise, both were absolutely delicious.

There was a nice gentleman behind the bar making everyone feel welcome, keeping busy and also serving the food.

The toilets are upstairs, very modern white toilets and basins with comfy sofas in an outside area. Lovely and clean but not practical for small children because of the lack of changing facilities.

Overall, lovely atmosphere, beautiful food and a must to try while around town, slightly more expensive than your usual town centre cafes but definitely worth it.

Overall opinion *****

Value for money ****
