On our arrival inside a large modern bar, Barracuda was very spacious with plenty of room to wheel the pram to the family area at the far end of the room.
We managed to negotiate a couple of steps but there is a lift at the side for wheelchairs. Another seating area could be approached by a ramp which also had steps down to the main toilets. Booth seating and comfy sofas are also in this area along with seating in the window area and in the main bar area.

The family area has plenty of tables and chairs but there is still enough room for wheelchairs and prams. The disabled toilet was in this area and also incorporating a baby changing unit. As long as you're in the family area then breast feeding is acceptable.

While Kieren was having his lunch we were studying the vast choice on the menu. This included: Wraps £4.15-£4.95, hot melts £4.25-£4.95, sandwiches £3.95-£4.55, jacket potatoes with one filling £3.75, two fillings £4.75, a selection of main meals £4.25-£5.65, salads £5.25-£6.25, grill selection £4.25-£9.95. They also do meal deals; sharing platters, build your own chip bowl, sides, desserts and a good choice of hot and cold beverages.

For children they do a "shorty's menu" and a "chef's menu" which includes a selection of starters, mains and desserts on little or big plates.

We opted for a spicy southern fried chicken and mayonnaise wrap which came with chips or curly fries and a Barracuda melt which comprised of chicken, bacon with bbq sauce on a baguette again with chips or curly fries. They were delicious and plentiful. We had a latte to drink which came with a small twirl chocolate bar.

Old fashioned puddings are also on the menu but we were too full to manage them.

The staff were smartly dressed in black, kept very busy but still managed a service with a smile.

Overall it was very good value for money, a fantastic place for families. A very different atmosphere during the day to what it's like in the evening especially at weekends.

Overall opinion ***1/2

Value for money ***1/2
