A SCARBOROUGH shop, which was left counting the cost of a nightclub flood, has moved to another site.
Scoops Weigh and Save, formerly the Food Weighouse, is now based in Northway after leaving its previous premises in Aberdeen Walk and was officially reopened on Saturday.

In April the store, which sells unpackaged products and dry foods, was affected by a flood at Club Mansion, which ran above the shop, when water poured through the ceiling after a tap jammed in the men's toilets.

The incident caused substantial damage and resulted in owner Ros Bigsby having to destroy the vast majority of her stock.

She said: "We had a lot of problems with the Aberdeen Walk store, such as windows being smashed and other vandalism, before the flood, but that was the final straw.

"I'm really happy with the new shop. It is bigger and more colourful. People don't like change but I'm sure they'll get used to it."
