A firm of Scarborough architects have been offering its services as part of national Architecture Week.
Salt Architects, which has offices in Scarborough and Beverley, has held several successful events at part of the Royal Institute of British Architects' Architecture Week.

Although the week was officially cancelled Salt Architects decided to mark the would be occasion anyway, and hosted a free consultation desk in the Brunswick Shopping Centre for anyone who wanted to improve their living space.

As part of Salt Architect's continued contribution to the community, which was the objective of Architecture Week, people can still contact the firm over the next two weeks for a consultation with its award-winning architects at their office in Woodend Creative Artspace.

Anyone interested should call Salt Architects on (01723) 384529.

I would understand that Comment #2 is a reference to the on going discussion of the Sands Development that occurs whenever there is talk of new development in Scarborough... Salt Architects actually have no connection with Benchmark.

If you wish to know what we have been involved with take a look at www.saltarchitects.co.uk or come and visit us at Woodend.

#3 Nice website.

I do hope you are not one of those companies which would employ the designs that have ruined many of the one time fine town houses in Scarborough. By that i mean conversions with room spaces that could be better described as corridors or even triangular, bathrooms and kitchens outside apartments or only accessible by going through bedrooms, large windows with clearly visible partition walls spoiling the appearance, original cornices and skirting boards which disappear into walls. Its a disgrace that conversions like those were ever allowed to be carried out.

Do you agree?

as to how many people will take you up your offer to visit you, don't hold your breath. these people prefer to hide behind their computer screens and moan.

Typical response from Rush.

Invites to have a look at a companies web site are offered, a question is posed, and a very valid question in the minds of anyone who has an interest in preserving what little is left of Scarboroughs hidden gems and what do you do,
Tell them to ‘SHUT UP and leave these guys alone. a local business does something for free and all you can do is make accusations and slurs and push your own agenda.’

My question is, who within this story and the comments posted has the most to gain through hidden agendas?

FOR SALE.
Once charming guesthouse in the picturesque seaside town of Scarborough.

Offers are invited from those wishing to appropriate the maximum amount of government money from the lowest possible outlay as the property currently with twelve bedrooms is now in a suitably dilapidated condition and would make the ideal transformation into 18 barely legal bedsit flats.

Planning consent is not thought to be a problem as the local council has gone to great lengths to promote this type of development.
Local architects and Tradesmen, experienced in this type of conversion are available at hand and it is also believed that due, to the special advertising campaign in prisons, halfway houses and benefit agencies by the council, there should be no problems in finding tenants for the foreseeable future.

Due to the volume of enquiries expected on a property of this nature, also to ensure planning applications are passed as quickly and smoothly as possible, it is with deep regret that the agents acting on behalf of the seller would seek to “keep it in the family” as it were, by only accepting notes from those also involved in special relationships with the council.

Heavensent - don't try and twist things. The comments were accusatory and without evidence. Typical of the negativity that thrives on these boards. It doesn't matter what the subject is or who it relates to, people instantly assume the worst. They must be sad, lonely, bitter people to want to apply their insular negative thinking to everything and everyone. I pity them.
